How to disable music autoplay on people’s pages
Since this is an issue that has startled me greatly on more that one occasion, I figured it was high time I get to the bottom of it and put an end to music autoplaying on people’s pages. So, after doing some digging, here is how to do just that.
For Firefox users:
First, you must have the Adblock Plus extension.
Once you have installed Adblock Plus, go to Tools > Adblock Plus Preferences.
Then click Add filter.
A textbox should appear. Paste the following text:
http://o.aolcdn.com/art/merge?f=/_media/sp/sp-player.js&f=/_media/sp/sp-player-*.js&*
Press Enter.
Repat for the following lines:
http://o.aolcdn.com/os_merge/?file=/streampad/sp-player.js&file=/streampad/sp-player-tumblr.js*
http://www.hypster.com/flash/player.swf?id=*
http://scm.hypster.com/script.php
Click Ok.

For Chrome users:
First, install Adblock Plus for Google Chrome.
Then, click the Wrench icon, go to Tools > Extensions.
Look for Adblock Plus then click Options.
Click the Add your own filters tab.
Paste the following into the textbox:
http://o.aolcdn.com/art/merge?f=/_media/sp/sp-player.js&f=/_media/sp/sp-player-*.js&*
Click Add filter.
Repeat for the following lines:
http://o.aolcdn.com/os_merge/?file=/streampad/sp-player.js&file=/streampad/sp-player-tumblr.js*
http://www.hypster.com/flash/player.swf?id=*
http://scm.hypster.com/script.php
Click Add filter again.

…And that’s it! The Streampad bar and the Hypster players should not show up on people’s pages anymore, saving you from potential heart attacks caused by obnoxiously loud music suddenly blaring from your speakers.
Note: This will make the Streampad bar and the Hypster players completely disappear from people’s pages. Meaning, if you just wanted to stop the autoplay, but still want to be able to listen to the music later, then this isn’t for you.
Also, this only disables music embedded using Streampad or Hypster (since those are the only ones that I’ve heard of so far). If you find a page that uses neither of these, feel free to message me and I’ll try to help.
I’ll also keep updating this post in case I run into anything.
